Rush City Superintendent Retires Following Failed Referendum

The Rush City School District will soon be under new leadership.

Former District Superintendent Theresa Dupre recently retired in a surprising move at the school’s board meeting.

Dupre’s retirement comes just weeks after the school’s critical operating referendum failed.

That failure will likely to lead to the cutting of staff, as said by Dupre herself before the referendum went to a vote.

"Sadly, without the referendum, the school district will be faced with additional reductions. 80% of our operating fund is personnel so it will impact a reduction in staff."

Further updates on the school’s future and the next superintendent will be released soon.
