Tigers Stay Undefeated as Mell Breaks Milestone

Girls Basketball

There weren't a ton of points scored in the Tigers' 44-24 win over Isle on Friday night, but a milestone was still reached. Rush City Junior Shawna Mell reached the 1,000 career point club in the Tigers' victory. Mell will have a chance in her senior season to break Rush City's all-time scoring record. The record is currently held by Jaime Jacobson who scored 1510 points in the mid 90's.

Rush City improved to 15-0 with the victory as well, and tonight they face their toughest task to date: the Crusaders from St. Cloud Cathedral. The Tigers defeated St. Cloud Cathedral in the Sub-Section Championship last season 36-30. The Crusaders are currently 14-3 and will likely be standing in the Tigers' way of another shot at the State Tournament again this season. Tip off is scheduled for 7:15 and the game can be heard on 100.9 FM.
