Dragon Hockey Red Hot Heading Into Playoffs

Boys Hockey

The Pine City Dragons are on an unprecedented winning streak right now. Pine City picked up a big 3-2 victory on the road Friday night giving them their 12th win in a row and 19th win of the season. The winning streak is the best in school history. Pine City hasn't lost since December 26th.

Pine City started the game out on the right note Friday night scoring right away and holding a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period. The Dragons would hold the lead late into the third period when they gave up a late power play goal allowing Proctor to tie it. With the game tied at 2-2 Pine City relied on their senior captain, Jonah Bergstrom to bury the game winner with just eight seconds left!

Pine City head coach Grant Nicoll called the game "A good hard fought win, and character builder going into playoffs." The Dragons will wrap up the regular season with a Tuesday night game against Cambridge-Isanti before taking more than a week off before section playoffs start.
