Dragons and Jaguars Battle for Conference Title


Boys Basketball

Pine City and Hinckley-Finlayson are starting to develop a rivalry that is sure to be fun to watch for years to come. The Jaguars have gotten the better of Pine City the last couple times these teams have played. Earlier this year, the Jaguars defeated Pine City 68-66 in Hinckley. The Jaguars have already clinched a portion of the conference title for the second straight season. Pine City has a little bit more to play for as the Dragons are going for their first share of a conference title in over 10 years.

Pine City comes into the game at 20-5 on the season while Hinckley-Finlayson is 22-3. Tip off will be around 7:15 and you can listen to the game on 100.9 FM and online.

Girls Basketball

Four area girls basketball teams are moving on to the sub-section semi-final games on Saturday night.

The Rush City Tigers defeated Mora 65-33 and Pine City defeated Foley 54-43. The Tigers and Dragons will meet at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School Saturday Night at 7:00pm. The game was moved from St. John's University due to the NCAA Division 3 Tournament. Rush City got the better of Pine City in both matchups this season.

East Central moved onto the Section 5A Sub-Section semi-final with a 78-47 victory over Ogilive. The Eagles will take on Braham who defeated Isle 77-27. The game will take place at 7:45 pm at Foley High School. Braham and East Central split their matchups during the regular season.
