The Rush City Tigers and St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders are starting to get used to seeing each other at St. John's University. This is the third-straight season these two teams will match-up in the Sub-Section Championship game.
The teams have split the first two contests with Cathedral winning in 2016 47-46 and Rush City winning last year 36-30. Both of those years the winning team would lose to Sauk Centre in the section championship game. It is likely the winner of Tuesday Night's game will face Sauk Centre again as the Mainstreeters play Albany right before the Tigers game.
St. Cloud Cathedral comes in to tonight's game with a record of 22-6 after beating North Lakes Academy and Milaca in the first two playoff games. Rush City is 23-1 after defeating Mora and Pine City. The Tigers' lone loss of the season was to these same Crusaders on January 29th. The Crusaders defeated Rush City 61-58 in overtime.
Tonight's game is sure to follow the path of the previous matchups between these two teams and will go down to the final minutes. Tip-off from St. John's University is scheduled for 8:00pm and will be broadcasted on 100.9 FM.
