Matchup
The Hinckley-Finlayson boys basketball team is headed to their first-ever Minnesota State Tournament. Hinckley-Finlayson (26-4) from Section 5A will take on Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (30-1) from Section 3A. This is the first trip to the State Tournament for R-T-R since 2005. The Knights won back-to-back state titles in 2004 and 2005. Tip-off is at 1:00 pm from Williams Arena.
Location
The game will be held at Williams Arena on the campus of The University of Minnesota. The arena is located at 1925 University Ave SE in Minneapolis. Click here for parking options for the arena.
Fan Bus
According to the Hinckley-Finlayson School District Facebook Page the school is sending a fan bus and there is still room. A post on the Facebook page said, "There are still seats on the second fan bus (one is full- yeah!) available for students or community members. Cost is $5. Call the high school office to reserve a spot. Buses leave HFHS at 11:00 AM. Students riding the fan bus will be able to eat at school before leaving."
Tickets
Tickets are available at the high school office and are $14 for adults and $9 for students.
Tickets can also be purchased at Williams Arena on game day but people are encouraged to purchase their tickets ahead of time. Williams Arena will open at 10:00 am on Thursday.
School
The Hinckley-Finlayson school district announced on their Facebook page they will be allowing students to attend Thursday's quarterfinal game on an excused absence. IF the Jaguars win on Thursday and move on to the semifinals, Hinckley-Finlayson School will close district wide so students can go and watch the game.
