Mustang Hockey Returns Core of Defenders

The Mora-Milaca Mustang hockey team is looking to improve off last year's 11-14 season that saw them losing to North Branch in the section quarterfinals. The Mustangs return a good core of defensive players that coach Kevin Nolt is hoping will give the team success.

The Mora-Milaca Hockey Preview with Kevin Nolt:

What are you most excited for this year?

Coaching high school hockey in the state of hockey is always exciting. This year our program has another great group of players with high character. Being able to coach this type of student-athletes is something every coach wants.

How is the roster shaping up? Do you have a lot of new players? Are you returning

a lot of players? Younger? Older? Etc.

Currently, we have a pretty even mix of experience and new players to the program.

Who are a couple athletes that will stand out?

We have a strong defensive group of three experience players: Blake Radeke, Kaleb Swenson, and Kolton Brodal. Gavin Orr is one of the tops players in the conference and will provide scoring opportunities for the entire team.

What are your goals?

Every year we setup some teams goals that will make us successful. The goal every year is to achieve those goals one game at a time.

Favorite upcoming games, matches, or meets?

We have been going to the North Shore tournament and the players really enjoy that. We haven't been in the championship game in a few years and are hoping to get back into that game.
