Bluejackets Headed to State for First Time Since 2008

Cambridge-Isanti topped Blaine in the Section 7AAAA final to earn a state tournament bid for the first time since 2008. The Bluejackets are 17-12 on the year and are led by junior guard Henry Abraham. Abraham averages 23 points per game and has nearly 2,100 for his career.

The Bluejackets will see the #2 seed Hopkins Royals in the first round. Hopkins is the champions of Section 6 with a record of 24-4 coming into the tournament. They defeated Wayzata in their section final. Hopkins is back for the 23rd time in its program’s rich history. The Royals, a seven-time big-school champ in the four-class era, is powered, in part, by 6-foot-10 senior forward Ezekiel Nnaji, who averages 24 points per game.

Cambridge-Isanti and Hopkins will meet at 2:00pm on Wednesday at the Target Center. This game will be broadcast on 100.9 FM and wcmpradio.com
