Hinckley-Finlayson fall sports are in full swing as the new school year begins. With practices starting in early August, the fall sports teams have been eager to compete. But with school starting, the high school teams are not the only ones who will compete this fall. Elementary students will compete as well, and there’s a new sport coming to elementary aged Jaguar students this fall.
Hinckley-Finlayson will hold an Elementary Jaguars cross country camp. The camp will be hosted by the Jaguars varsity cross country team. The camp will be for elementary students grades 3-6 with a five dollar fee to join. There will be a total of three practices beginning on Monday September 9th, then again on Tuesday September 17th and the final practice on Monday September 23rd. Practices will be after school at the Flagstad softball field from 3:15-4:30 on the days scheduled. There will be a rain make up day on Friday September 20th if needed.
The practices will consist of warming up, playing a running game, breaking for snack and water before finishing up with a relay type race. The goal of these practices is to prepare the students for race day. All elementary aged students will be invited to race day! Race day will be held at the Grand National Golf Course on Tuesday October 1st staring at 3:45pm.
Forms and money must be turned in to the office by Friday September 6th. Hinckley-Finlayson will use the Parents remind account and their facebook page to communicate cancellations. If you have any questions about the elementary Jaguars cross country camp you can contact Tom Linden at his email, tlinden@isd2165.org.
