Nelson Hits 1,000th Assist

The Pine City Dragons volleyball team celebrated a win over rival Braham last night, but that wasn’t the only reason for celebration.

Senior Makenna Nelson hit her 1,000th career assist in last night’s win over the Bombers. The Dragons season didn’t begin the way they wanted, starting the season 2-4. But after a slow start the Dragons have caught fire winning eight of their last ten games, including a 4-1 performance in their home tournament.

The Dragons hope to keep this hot streak alive as they face two teams who have struggled this year. East Central who currently sits at 0-14 and Hinckley-Finlayson at 3-8. Pine City will host Hinckley-Finlayson Tuesday September 24th at 7:15pm. The Dragons will then travel to East Central for their matchup on Thursday September 26th at 7:15pm.
