Rush City Rolls on Homecoming night


Rush City hosted East Central for their homecoming game on Friday night.

Rush City scored the first three touchdowns in the first quarter. Anthony Hermanson scored first on a rushing touchdown, then Zeth Hahn scored two rushing touchdowns of his own making it 20-0 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was a back and forth shootout. The Eagles scored their first touchdown of the game when Brody Lindstrom passed to Wes Watrin. Hahn scored on two more rushing touchdowns from forty seven and thirty six yards out. East Central added two more scores of their own as Lindstrom threw a seventy four yard touchdown pass to Crosby Keranen, and Cory Dilly ran for a two yard touchdown. Rush City went into half with a 34-18 lead. Hahn would score his fifth rushing touchdown of the game in the third quarter before East Central would score their last touchdown of the game on a twenty yard catch from Keranen. Hermanson added a late score for the Tigers in the fourth quarter. The Tigers would go on to win on homecoming night 46-24.

The Tigers improve to 5-1 on the season. Rush City will have the rare bye week this Friday, as they played a week 0 game. East Central falls to 2-3 on the season. The Eagles will host Deer River(4-1) this Friday, kickoff will be at 7pm.
