High School Football Week Six Update


As we creep closer to the end of the football regular season let's take a look at where your favorite teams stand:

Pine City 2-3

QRF Ranking: 23rd in State 4th in Section 5AAA

The Dragons suffered a tough loss to class 4A opponent Crosby-Ironton before picking up their second win of the season against Aitkin on homecoming night. The Dragons play in back to back homecoming games as they travel to Esko tonight.

Braham 4-1

QRF Ranking: 5th in State 1st in Section 7A

After starting the season 3-0, the Bombers suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Deer River. Braham was able to get back on track with a 52-8 win over North Woods last Friday. The Bombers will play a Barnum team who is coming off of their first win a week ago.

Rush City 5-1

QRF Ranking: 20th in State 6th in Section 4AA

The Tigers are coming off of two convincing wins over Hinckley-Finlayson and East Central at home. The Tigers have a bye this week and will take on Barnum next week.

Hinckley-Finlayson 2-3

QRF Ranking: 39th in State 4th in Section 7A

The Jaguars have had a tough couple weeks. Losing their last two games: 36-14 versus Rush City and 40-22 versus Deer River. The Jaguars host North Woods for their homecoming game tonight, hoping to get themselves back in the win column.

East Central 2-3

QRF Ranking: 40th in State 5th in Section 7A

The Eagles are .500 over the last two weeks beating Chisholm 38-8 and losing to Rush City 46-24. East Central hosts the number two team in section Deer River, who also hasn't lost in section play.

Mora 5-0

QRF Ranking: 4th in State 2nd in Section 5AAA

The Mora Mustangs have enjoyed an undefeated record up to this point scoring over 40 points in three of their five games. The Mustangs host MLWR tonight in what is sure to be the game of the week.

North Branch 1-4

QRF Ranking: 36th in State 4th in Section 7AAAA

North Branch has only scored more than 20 points once this season, and that was in their only win on the season against Proctor. The North Branch Vikings travel north to take on the Hibbing Bluejackets tonight.

Cambridge-Isanti 1-4

QRF Ranking: 37th in State 5th in Section 7AAAAA

The Bluejackets haven't tasted victory in four weeks. They host Elk River tonight in hopes of getting their second win on the season
