High School Volleyball Update


Next week will be the last week of regular season volleyball play, lets take a look at where your favorite teams stand before the playoffs:

Braham 8-17

QRF Ranking: 120th in State 3rd in Section 5A North A

Since the last time we checked on the Bombers they have had a bit of a tough stretch in their schedule. Going 1-8 in their last nine games, Braham hopes to finish the season on a high note when they play Ogilvie for their last regular season match on Tuesday October 15th.

East Central 0-22

QRF Ranking: 181st in State 6th in Section 5A North A

The Eagles have yet to win a game this season. While they are a young team, they have two more regular season matches to try and notch their first win. October 14th against MLWR and October 15th against Rush City.

Hinckley-Finlayson 8-14

QRF Ranking: 132nd in State 4th in Section 5A North A

The Jaguars have gone 4-3 since we last checked on them. They finish their season against the Dragons in Pine City next Tuesday.

Rush City 13-6

QRF Ranking: 49th in State 1st in Section 5A North A

Rush City has gone on a rampage, winning seven of their last eight games. They jumped 50 spots in QRF and moved into first in their section. The Tigers hope to finish the season on this incredible run. They host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa tomorrow, Chisago Lakes on Monday, before finishing up the season next Tuesday in East Central against the Eagles.

Mora 7-17

QRF Ranking: 95th in State 11th in Section 7AA

Mora has struggled to get any momentum this season. They finish up the regular season at home next Tuesday against Foley. The Mustangs hope to gain any momentum in the playoffs and make a deep playoff run.

North Branch 20-2

QRF Ranking: 1st in State 1st in Section 7AA

The North Branch Vikings continue to have success this season. They've won seven of their last eight game losing only to Wisconsin power house River Falls. The Vikings finish up their regular season this Friday and Saturday in a huge tournament at St. Michael Albertville High School, where 35 teams including North Branch will compete.

Pine City 15-7

QRF Ranking: 65th in State tied for 6th in Section 7AA

The Dragons only played four games since our last update. Going 3-1 in that span with their loss coming against rival Rush City. Pine City has two more regular season games before playoffs. They host Barnum on Monday and travel to play the Jaguars of Hinckley-Finlayson on Tuesday.

Cambridge-Isanti 8-12

QRF Ranking: 69th in State 7th in Section 7AAA

The Bluejackets finish the season on a high note winning two of their last three games. The Bluejackets finished up the season by beating Becker 3-1 last night.
