The Dragons girls’ basketball team is off to a red hot 2-0 start.
The Dragons first game of the year was against Aitkin last Tuesday. Senior Lily Wilson lead the team with 28 points, 8 steals, 5 assists, and 1 block. Ellie Hasz was their second leading scorer, with 20 points. She also added 6 steals, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. This helped propel the Dragons to their first win of the season, 88-20 over the Gobblers.
In their second game of the season last night they hosted Ogilvie. Junior Ellie Hasz lead the team scoring 22 points. Lily Wilson added 20, freshman Sophie Lahti put up 18, and senior Ashley Faur added 16 points. With four players scoring double digits the Dragons easily topped the Lions 104-30.
Pine City will host section 6AA opponent and rival Rush City this Friday. The Dragons and Tigers will tip off at 7pm.
