Boys Basketball Playoff Update

The first round of the boys playoffs have come and gone. Let's take a look at where our local teams sit.


Section 5A

East Central #2 seed 16-9, 9-2 Section record

The Eagles beat Braham in their first round matchup 76-24. They will now play Kaleidoscope Charter on Saturday at 2:45pm at Hinckley-Finlayson HS.


Ogilvie #6 seed 7-18, 4-8 Section record

The Lions fell to Kaleidoscope Charter on the road 53-42 and sadly see their season end.


Braham #7 seed 9-17, 5-7 Section record

See East Central


Mille Lacs #9 seed 1-24, 0-14 Section record

The Raiders fell to St. John's Prep on the road 62-44.


Section 6AA

Mora #2 seed 22-4, 10-3 Section record

The Mustangs got one final victory in the old school gym. They beat Holdingford 68-39. They'll play Melrose on Saturday at 4pm at St. John's University.


Milaca #3 seed 20-6, 12-3 Section record

The Wolves were victorious over Kimball 82-52. They move on to the quarterfinals on Saturday at St. John's University to play Annandale at 5:30pm.


Foley #10 seed 10-15, 4-12 Section record

The Falcons fell short in the first round to Melrose 57-46.


Pine City #11 seed 13-13, 4-3 Section record

The Dragons had a favorable matchup against Annandale. They fell late 69-59.


Rush City #13 12-12, 1-7 Section record

The Tigers fell to a very tough Sauk Centre team 74-48.


Section 7AA

Hinckley-Finlayson #10 seed 12-14, 2-5 Section record

This Jaguars play Aitkin for the second time this season. Sadly they came up short falling 67-58.


Section 5AAA

Princeton #1 seed 21-5, 10-1 Section record

The Tigers received the first round bye and waited to see who'd they play in the semi final. Now they know and it will be Becker. They'll play tonight at 6pm in Princeton.


Section 7AAA

North Branch #2 seed 14-12, 4-1 Section record

The Vikings received the first round bye and watched Duluth Denfeld beat Hibbing. They'll play the Hunters tonight at 7pm.


Section 7AAAA

Cambridge-Isanti 17-9, 5-1 Section record

The Bluejackets narrowly beat Forest Lake 63-60, but they made it to the semi finals none the less. They'll play against Duluth East on Saturday at 5pm at Princeton HS.
