The Braham Police and Fire Department will soon begin using new equipment for hostile and emergency situations.
The Braham police department recently purchased four pepperball guns, a less than lethal weapon that can be used to temporarily blind subjects in escalated situations. The department purchased four guns, one for each squad car.
The department has drafted a policy for the tools and expect to have the equipment in their squad cars by the end of March.
The Braham Fire Department meanwhile received a substantial donation from the Grandy Lions and will be using it to help purchase a Jaws of Life, a rescue tool used in a number of difficult emergency situations, particularly car crashes. No timetable has been given for the arrival of the equipment.
