Braham traveled up to East Central for the girls basketball game on Thursday night.
The Lady Bombers have been the talk of the conference since the end of last season. And for good reason, they are one of the favorites to win the conference and one of the favorites to get back to the section championship game.
But before any of that they have to play through the regular season. It continued with a conference matchup against the Eagles.
Both teams took alittle time to shake out the jitters, but once they did the baskets were falling like prices on black Friday. Braham was able to get out to a early lead and never looked back. Despite this, the Eagles were not going to just hang their heads. They fought hard and late in the first half both sides of the ball had been given new life. They were matching the Braham speed and managed to end the half putting points on the board. Still the Bombers lead at half 42-11.
Even though Braham controlled the pace of the game and the scoreboard, East Central continued to fight. The Bombers only allowed 7 points in the 2nd half, and continued to extend their lead. They were able to get some bench players some valuable minutes on varsity. But the Eagles knew ending the game on a high note would bode well for them. They again were able to land a few shots at the end of the half, but would fall short 74-18.
For Braham their next game will be at home for another conference matchup against Hinckley-Finlayson.
The Eagles will also play a conference game nest Tuesday in Ogilvie.
