wcmpnews

Braham will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the city's water infrastructure project on April 8.

The ceremony will be held at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Central Drive at 10 a.m.

Mayor Nate George will make remarks about the project, and recognize direct contributors to the effort. A reception will follow at city hall.

The Braham City Council voted to accept a bid for work on the first phase of the city’s upcoming infrastructure project at their March meeting.

The council awarded the bid to Mora-based contractor Douglas Kerr Underground for just shy of $5.5 million dollars.

The first phase of work will focus on the area of Central Drive West, replacing aging water infrastructure and putting in new streets.

A quorum of Braham city council members may be present at the groundbreaking, but no city businesses will be conducted at the event.
