The city of Cambridge will be moving forward with reconstruction plans for the regional airport later next year.
The Capital Improvement Plan project will look to reconstruct Runway 16/34 which will include re-paving, new LED lighting and wiring, restoration of surrounding areas and more.
The project is receiving substantial funding opportunities from the Federal Aviation Association and the Minnesota Department of Transportation Aeronautics.
Cambridge approved of moving forward with the project and bidding, costs are estimated to be around 2.3 million dollars with the city budgeting $150,000 to cover their portion of the costs.
