Community search efforts for a missing person on the Mille Lacs Band Indian Reservation resulted in the discovery of human remains on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the Mille Lacs Tribal Police, the search effort was for an Onamia man identified as Dylan Sam Senior.
Sam was reported missing in December, and was last seen by family on November 29.
The human remains were found in a wooded area by a search group at around 11 a.m.
The Midwest Medical Examiner will identify the remains; no foul play is expected.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, Mille Lacs Tribal Police, and members of the Mille Lacs band assisted in the search efforts.
