Convicted Sex Offender to be Released in Burnett County Wis.

On Wednesday, June 17, William Cauley will be released from prison to Burnett County from the Black River Correctional Facility.


According to a press release from the Burnett County Sheriff's Office, Cauley was convicted of multiple counts for possessing child pornography in 2016.


Cauley will remain under close supervision from local probation agents; he will be monitored for life with a GPS and have a lifetime registration with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program. He is also to have no unsupervised contact with minors and no contact with his victims.


Cauley will be homeless in the Burnett County Area.


The press released ended by stating, "This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public."
