A 13-year-old is recovering after a biting incident took place involving an off-duty Anoka County K-9 in the city of Isanti last Friday evening.
According to a press release, authorities responded to an animal complaint on Isanti Parkway NW. Paramedics treated the bite on the victim’s hand at the scene and later treated the victim at Cambridge Medical Center.
Isanti Police conducted an investigation and determined the actions constituted declaring the animal a “potentially dangerous dog” under current Minnesota State Statute.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office stated that it will be conducting its own investigation and will review it's K-9 program, policies, training and practices.
