On Friday night the Dragons girls’ basketball team put their 16-1 record on the line, as they hosted a tough Foley team.
Foley scored first, but Pine City answered right back. The 1st half was back and forth, neither team able to pull away. Midway through the opening half, the Falcons finally found a rhythm and started to hit on all cylinders, and pulled away with the lead. The Falcons held the lead for most of the half, but the Dragons got themselves back within three before halftime 29-26. After the break, Pine City stormed back and took their first lead of the game early in the 2nd half. After the Dragons gained the lead they never looked back. They outscored the Falcons 31-17 in the 2nd half. Pine City got a hard fought 57-46 win. Lilly Wilson lead the team with 16 points followed by Alaina Steele with 11 and Ellie Hasz with 10.
The Dragons now sit at 17-1, and will travel to Hinckley-Finlayson on Monday night.
