A Grantsburg man is facing multiple charges for producing child pornography following an investigation into instances dating back to May of 2019.
Johnny Lee Massey Jr. has been charged with eight total felonies - two counts possession of child pornography, two counts invasion of privacy use of surveillance device (victim under 18), two counts child sexual exploitation, and two counts post or publish private representation without consent (victim under 18). He is currently being held in the Barron County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
According to the Burnett County Sentinal, Massey allegedly placed hidden cameras in the bathrooms of two separate Burnett County, Wisconsin residences between May and December of 2019, to secretly record children without clothes on.
Wisconsin Court records say that during the preliminary hearing on January 22, 2020, Massey pled not guilty to all charges. A motion was made to dismiss all eight counts, but the motion ultimately denied by the court. The records went on to state that the court found probable cause that a crime has been committed and the defendant probably committed it.
Massey's next court appearance is scheduled for March 17, 2020.
