Two were arrested in Pine County earlier this month after guns and drugs were found by law enforcement.
The Pine County Sheriff's Office was investigating a death near Sportsman's Lane in Brook Park on Monday, April 13, when a 29-year-old Samuel Charles Skelton of Cambridge was recognized by agents of the East Central Regional Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force. According to the task force, Skelton was detained after he started acting suspiciously.
Agents discovered methamphetamine on his person during a search, and a search of Skelton's vehicle revealed more methamphetamine, an AR-15, two loaded handguns, and 3,550 rounds of ammunition.
Skelton is now facing 12 new charges on top of the drug charges he was facing in Isanti and Ramsey county.
A passenger of the vehicle, Walter Eugene O'Connor jr., was also arrested for providing law enforcement with a false identity and was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The Pine County Sheriff's Office does not believe the death they were investigating in Brook Park and the arrests are connected.
