High School Girls Hockey Update

The girls hockey season is in full swing, so let’s take a look at where your favorite teams stand:

Cambridge-Isanti/Pine City/Mora 7-8

QRF Ranking 48th in the State 6th in Section 7AA

The Bluejackets co op started the season off slow, as they lost 5 of their first 7 games. But they have since turned the season around winning 5 of their last 8 games. The Bluejackets will take on MLWR tonight at home, to try and get themselves back to .500 on the season.

MLWR 6-9

QRF Ranking 42nd in State 6th in Section 7A

The Rebels struggled to find a rhythm in the first part of the season, they started with a 4-8 record. The Rebels played in the Herb Brooks Holiday Classic last week and showed their strength. They lost on the first day of competition, but won on the last two days scoring 7 points in both games while only allowing 3. The Rebels hope to ride the wave of momentum into the home stretch of the season. They travel to Cambridge to face the Bluejackets tonight, puck drop at 7pm.

North Branch 3-12

QRF Ranking 51st in State 8th in Section 5A

The Vikings had only 1 win on the season up until last week. The Vikings competed in the Herb Brooks Holiday Classic last Monday-Wednesday. They lost on the opening day of the tournament, but they didn’t let that loss derail them. The Vikings came back Tuesday and shutout North Shore 3-0. On the last day of the tournament they faced Marshall. The Vikings battled hard all game and sent the game to overtime, where they would come out on top 2-1. The Vikings will host the Duluth Northern Stars tonight with puck drop at 7pm.
