Blame it on the rain.
According to MnDOT, Highway 23 will remain closed east of Bock to Ogilvie, with the detour between Mille Lacs County Road 24 and north junction Highway 47 in place through mid-July.
MnDOT anticipates removing the detour and opening the lanes by Friday, July 12.
Roadwork on Highway 23 between Milaca and Bock is projected to begin on Monday, July 15.
A detour will take motorists on Mille Lacs County Roads 2, 4, and 1 until approximately mid-September.
That stretch of Highway 23 will be resurfaced from mid-September to early October. Travelers can expect alternate one-way traffic with flaggers.
