The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are investigating a fish kill on Lake Francis.
The sheriff’s office reached out to the DNR after receiving multiple reports about the Isanti County lake.
A DNR agent determined the kill was caused by high lake temperatures and low oxygen levels.
Algae was also found in the lake, which the DNR says could cause concerns for pets and livestock.
