The Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office is notifying residents about a level-three sex offender being released in Mora in early March.
According to the notice, 41-year-old Matthew Smith engaged in sexual contact against a known female child over a period of time.Â
He was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a party younger than 13 years old, but older than 36 months, in March of 2008.
The sheriff’s office states that Smith used a position of trust to gain and exploit unmonitored access to the victim.
Smith will be released on March 3 to an address in the vicinity of Highways 23 and 65 in Mora.
