Man wanted in Ogilvie sexual assault case arrested, extradited

A Minneapolis man wanted in a Kanabec County sexual assault case has been arrested and extradited from Massachusetts.

According to the criminal complaint, the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a female party that she had been raped by ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Gandy at her Ogilvie residence on June 26, 2023.

The complaint states that on June 25, Gandy got into a physical altercation with another patron at an Ogilvie bar.

He allegedly returned to the bar after the female party attempted to break up the fight with a machete and bear mace, looking to assault the other individual.

The female party indicated that she wanted space from Gandy after the incident.

On the 26th, the victim noticed Gandy outside her apartment visiting with neighbors when she arrived home from work.

She was later awoken by Gandy in her bed, and was unsuccessful in her attempts to push him away.

Injuries the victim sustained were described as consistent with sexual assault by a nurse at Fairview Northland.

A nationwide warrant had been issued for Gandy’s arrest due to his unknown whereabouts.

Gandy is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. His next court appearance is on May 3.
