Milaca Approves Body Cam Purchase

The City of Milaca approved a body cam quote from the Milaca Police Department at their November 19 council meeting.

Police Chief Quinn Rasmussen offered two different proposals from Watch Guard and Axon. Rasmussen voiced his opinion on the proposal for Watch Guard, claiming it would be cheaper and provide more cameras.

Rasmussen went onto express the importance of the equipment.

“This equipment will not only allow us to provide better evidence in cases, it’s also a great tool for liability reasons for the city as well,” said Rasmussen

The approved quote is estimated to be just over $20,000 and would include body and squad cams, licensing for software and training with the equipment. The estimated quote is slightly over the allotted budget by over $335, but the council still approved for the cameras to be purchased.
