The Mustangs hosted Royalton on Monday night.
Mora was looking to gain another section win to keep their spot as the 2nd place team in tact.
Once the game began the Mustangs quickly took over and forced the game to go the way they wanted. Defensively, they smothered the Royals shooters and and didn't allow any second chance scoring opportunities. Offensively, they set the pace and quickly got open and scored in a hurry. Even when the shot looked to be guarded well, Mora was skillfully able to get through the defense and still able to score. They got out to an early lead and eventually built up a double digit lead. The 1st half kept going in favor of the Mora, and before halftime they had built up a 32 point lead, 46-14.
Mora brought their starters out to begin the 2nd half, but they eventually made their way out. They continued to keep their lead at an uncatchable spot and were able to get in some bench players. The Mustangs were able to get the bench players in at the 9 minute mark of the 2nd half. The backups came in and did a good job of executing the gameplan and even forcing some turnovers as well. The Mustangs continued to hold their lead over 30 points and were able to finish off the game with the win 68-33.
The Mustangs move to 13-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in section play. They will travel to Sauk Centre on Tuesday night to play another section opponent who is top four in the section. An important matchup the Mustangs need to win.
