Mora Dog Park Opens

The new Mora Dog Park held its grand opening over the weekend.

This project was a community effort that has been over a year in the making. The idea for the park grew from a Facebook post that was spotted by Friends of the Mora Dog Park organizer Carmichael Finn.

From that initial post, Finn started gathering various community members to start raising funds to build the park. The Friends of the Mora Dog Park reached out to families, individuals, and local businesses to raise around $20,000 to build the one-acre fenced-in park, complete with benches and waste containers.

Finn says the group is excited to have the park open as a new place for the community.

"I'm excited for all the dog owners in Mora to have a place to come together and meet their neighbors," Finn told KBEK. "

The park is located behind the Kanabec History Center and will be open every day between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
