The Mustangs girls basketball team hosted Braham on Monday night.
Early on in the game it looked to be a defensive battle between the two teams. Neither team fouled until 7 minutes into the game. Late in the 1st half Braham's offense started to catch fire, and started to run away with the game. Despite the lack of scoring for the Mustangs the kept pushing for a late surge and were able to get a few key rebounds to try and help that. But the Bombers were able to create a plethora of turnovers and keep the Mustangs down. Mora went into the halftime break trailing 32-8.
Braham's offense showed no signs of slowing down, once the 2nd half began. And their defense continued to bother Mora and not allow them any room to breathe. The Mustangs struggled to get past the Bomber full court pressure which lead to more turnovers. Mora did improve on their turnovers and shooting percentage in the 2nd half, but the Bombers proved to be too much as the game ended 61-20 in favor of the Blue and Gold.
With the win Braham improved to 20-5 on the season. Their final game of the regular season is on Thursday at Barnum.
Mora's loss puts them at 4-20 for the year. They have two more games left in the regular season, Tuesday at Pierz and Friday at Foley. The Mustangs look to end the year on a high note and take that into the playoffs.
