The Mora City Council and public utilities commission approved hiring Charles Hippen-Koch as treasurer on Oct. 1.
The treasurer position was created after the city decided to move forward without a city administrator after reaching a separation agreement with Glenn Anderson in June.
Hippen-Koch has previously worked as an accountant for the city of Sandstone and the Kanabec County Highway Department.
He joined city clerk Natasha Segelstrom and public utilities commissioner Joe Kohlgraf in Mora’s three-pronged approach to administration. His first day was Monday, Oct. 7.
