Mora is one of ten Minnesota cities to receive funding support through the latest round of MnDOT’s Active Transportation Planning Assistance program.
According to a MnDOT news release, the program is funded by the state legislature and aims to increase the number of residents walking and cycling to destinations in their communities.
Mora will receive an estimated $100,000 of technical assistance from a consultant to help develop a community-wide action plan for active transportation.
That plan will analyze existing conditions and identify ways to improve infrastructure.
The city will be responsible for the cost of implementing the action plan.
