The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for parts of Central and East-Central Minnesota with heat index values up to 102 expected.
The NWS recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, and staying out of the sun. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
The heat advisory went into effect at 11 a.m. Wednesday and will remain in effect until 8 p.m.
