After 22 years with the district, Pine City Athletic Director Bill "Coach C" Christianson will be hanging it up.
The Pine City School Board reluctantly accepted Christianson's letter of retirement during its January 13 board meeting.
In his letter, Christianson wrote, "I have truly enjoyed my past 22 years here at Pine City, and I sincerely appreciate the support provided to me both personally and professionally during my time in Dragon Land."
Pine City Superintendent Dr. Curt Tryggestad said that replacing Christianson will be a tall order, saying in a statement, "He's been a great teacher, resource, and mentor for teachers and kids for many years... Guys like that you don't replace, you just find somebody else to do part of the job."
Christianson's last day with Pine City will be the last teacher day of the 2019-2020 school year.
