Pine City's Westside Park & Beach Opens with New Rules

After much anticipation, the Westside Park & Beach in Pine City is now open to the public.

Due to COVID-19, the beach will now be open from 12:00-7:00 p.m. All people and vehicles must be gone by 7:30 p.m, and the park's gate will be locked when the lifeguards leave for the night.

The beach will also look a little different with the docks being set up in a different configuration, and no concessions, raft, paddleboards, or life jackets will be available to patrons this year.

Gate attendants will be posted at the pedestrian and the car gate, and all people entering the beach will be asked the following questions:

In the last week have you had any of the following?

· FEVER OR FEELING FEVERISH

· CHILLS

· A NEW COUGH

· SHORTNESS OF BREATH

· A NEW SORE THROAT

· NEW MUSCLE ACHES

· NEW HEADACHE

· NEW LOSS OF SMELL OR TASTE

The city asks anyone who has any of the above symptoms to go home, stay away from other people, and contact your health care provider.
