Playoff Football Outlook

The postseason is here!

Here's a look at how our local teams were seeded and who, when and where they'll play in the playoffs.

Section 5 9-Man

#3 seed Ogilvie 4-3

The Lions were thrust into a different section this year, which had its growing pains. Still the Lions will have a home playoff game vs Bertha-Hewitt next Tuesday at 6pm.

Class A Section 7

#2 Mille Lacs 6-2

The Raiders bring back most of their talent from last year and have been on a tear this season. They'll host East Central in round one on Tuesday at 6pm.

#3 Braham 4-4

The Bombers graduated alot of the talent from their state tournament team. They've had a few growing pains but still finished with a .500 record. They'll host Ely on Tuesday at 6pm.

#7 East Central 1-7

The Eagles were able to win a game over South Ridge this year.

Class AA Section 4

#1 Rush City 8-0

The Tigers finished the regular season 8-0! Now they play in a section where they rarely get to see any of the teams in the section during the regular season. Either way they get the first round bye and will host the winner of Rudolph and Cannon Falls next Saturday, Oct. 26th at 2pm.

Section 7

#8 Hinckley-Finlayson

The Jaguars were only able to get one win this season. It wasn't so much a lack of talent but more a lack of depth this year. They'll have a round one road test at Barnum on Tuesday at 6pm.

Class AAA Section 5

#3 Foley 3-5

The Falcons had a stacked schedule this year but still managed to win three games. With that they are the third seed and will host St. Cloud Apollo next Tuesday at 7pm, a team they have already beat.

#4 Mora 3-5

The Mustangs played some very good teams in fact almost half of the teams they played were ranked top 10 or higher in the state. Still three wins is good enough to host a playoff game against Milaca next Tuesday at 7pm.

#5 Milaca 2-6

The Wolves had a young team this year. But they won two games late in the season and carry momentum into the playoffs.

#7 Pine City 1-7

While the Dragons only won one game this year, they know it could've easily been 3. This team has made a huge turnaround since week 1. Even though they have to go on the road to St. Cloud Cathedral round one, they will not be an easy out. They play in St. Cloud next Tuesday at 730pm.

Class AAAA Section 3

#5 Chisago Lakes 3-5

A team who's record really doesn't show how talented they are. They were plagued by injuries all year long. They will be at S St. Paul next Tuesday at 7pm.

Section 7

#1 North Branch 6-2

The Vikings are the one seed once again, wish the purple and gold Vikings could do that. They had a couple losses on the year which they probably should've won. But with their other signature wins they claim the top seed. They'll get the 1st round by and host the winner of Rock Ridge and Grand Rapids next Saturday in the semi finals at 6pm.

Section 8

#2 Princeton 8-0

Becker is the #1 team in their section and in the State, but getting the two seed still means a home playoff game. With a smaller section, only 5 teams, they technically get a by and play next Saturday at home vs Rocori at 1pm.

Class AAAAA

Section 7

#6 Cambridge-Isanti 0-8

Although this is not official this is their presumed seeding. If this holds true they'll travel to the presumed #3 seed Sauk Rapids-Rice next Tuesday at 7pm.
