A proposed senior housing project in Mora will not seek state funding in 2025 after not being selected by Minnesota Housing after its 2024 application.
Mora’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority teamed up with Kanabec County in an effort to develop a 24-unit project located on Valhalla Circle.
Last July, the county board earmarked just over $48,000 in Statewide Affordable Housing Aid funds in support of the Mysa House II development.
The county will no longer have to reserve those funds after the project did not receive funds during the most recent Minnesota Housing cycle.
The HRA was notified that no senior housing projects were chosen during that funding round, and opted not to reapply in 2025.
