Standoff in North Branch Leads to Arrest

A standoff in North Branch took place late Friday night and continued into Saturday morning.

According to law enforcement, the incident began with a civil complaint over a car where responders learned that a man involved had two warrants out for aggravated robbery and violation of a no contact order.

The Chisago County Emergency Response Unit was dispatched to the Countryside Estates and attempted to gain compliance with chemical munitions.

Following the chemical munitions, a woman left the residence and was detained after refusing medical treatment.

SWAT teams moved in with the help of K9 Unit Stryker and apprehended the male suspect in a back bedroom in the mid-morning hours. The Lakes Area and Wyoming Police Departments assisted during the incident.
