Rescue operations are ongoing for an 18-year-old Wisconsin man who fell into the St. Croix River on Tuesday.
The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were notified at just after 6 p.m. about a male at Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls. He was later identified as Dandrea Sanvig, of Luck.
According to a news release, he lost his footing on a rock ledge overlooking the river and fell off the cliff.
Multiple area agencies engaged in an extensive rescue effort, which was unsuccessful and paused at nightfall.
Due to dangerous water conditions, the public is asked to not search on or near the river at this time.
